The list of finalists for the European Golden Boy 2023 title was unveiled this evening on the stage of the Teatro Cucinelli in Solomeo, thanks to the collaboration between Brunello Cucinelli and the Tuttosport award.

The list includes the top 20 players from the Golden Boy Index, a ranking compiled by Football Benchmark, the data & analytics partner of the award. The exception is Gavi, who, despite currently holding the 4th position, is excluded from the competition due to regulations as he is already in the hall of fame. Additionally, 5 wild cards were awarded by the Tuttosport editorial team.

At this point, the decision rests with the international jury of the European Golden Boy, consisting of 50 journalists from across Europe, who will select the Absolute Best 2023.

The name of the winner and those of all the other awardees will be announced in a press conference in November, preceding the award ceremony on Monday, December 4th in Turin.

The list of 25 finalists represents 16 nations, with France having the most candidates with 4 players, followed by Spain (3), and Belgium, Germany, England, and Portugal (2). The Bundesliga and La Liga lead the list of the most represented leagues with 5 candidates each, ahead of the Premier League (4) and Liga Portugal (3). Four clubs have two players among the finalists: Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Benfica, and Real Madrid.

The total market value of the 25 finalists exceeds one billion euros, standing at 1.171.8 million euros.
